Hey tappers,
Unfortunately a last minute booking mishap has made the hall unavailable for tonight.
Apologies to all but see you next week.

Yay we’re famous! Ok, well, maybe just notorious.
Shim Sham Tap Jam is on the TimeOut hot list of things to do in London to beat the winter blues. It’s in this week’s edition (the one with the muppets on the cover).
Not that we weren’t awesome before but now we are endorsed by TimeOut London – that just makes us supercool.
For anyone wanting to check out classes – yes you can just drop in and you don’t have to book.
See you in class!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TAPPERS!
Hope you all had a great new year. Was there any drunken tap dance on NYE? I hope so!
This year we have extra classes thanks to the amazing Avalon who is taking over the Monday evening slot.
ALL CLASSES £10 EACH and you can buy a carnet of classes for £70 and get 8 classes (one class free). The carnet must be used within two terms.
There will be classes for Absolute Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced this year, as well as a special ‘technique drills’ class which is aimed at bridging the gap between more than beginners and intermediate – Drills will be set and you can work at them at your own pace to increase your speed, co-ordination and stamina. This is where you will learn time steps, paddles, turns, cramp rolls, body rhythms and other fun stuff. Term dates are below:

As promised, here are the Nicholas Brothers again with Cab Calloway and a Very Happy Drummer at the beginning. Make sure you watch it at least until 4:01 for something utterly amazing.

Well it’s a lazy Sunday so what better way to spend it than watch some amazing tap? Below are the Nicholas Brothers, Harold and Fayard. Harold (the younger of the two) is the slightly shorter, cheekier one while Fayard’s hands are more controlled and ‘placed’.
We’ll be learning that number in class next week.
heh.
