Shim Sham Tap Jam is a weekly rhythm tap class focusing on the technique and groove required to get the rhythm happening in your feet. The Shim Sham Tap Jam is named after the Shim Sham Shimmy, a dance created by Leonard Reed in the 1920s. Students will learn this as well as other steps created by past masters – Bojangles, the Nicholas Brothers, Steve Condos. For the adventurous there is the London Tap Jam – a monthly jam night at Ronnie Scotts where you can improvise your new steps to a live band.
Educate your feet!

Hello there,
When does the new tap term start please? I really want to get tapping again, think I’d be intermediate, but I haven’t been to a class for about ten years.
Many thanks and Cheerio!
Hey Ukulele Lady
Come and join us on August 16th when the new term starts – I’ll be posting all the term dates up in the next day or two once i have confirmation from the venue. Look forward to seeing you then!
That’s marvellous, thank you.
In response to your question about Monday lessons, I would definately be interested in a 7.30pm improv/choreography lesson
Cheers
Hiya
When do classes start for 2011?
Gareth
Hi Gareth
the new term starts on Feb 2nd but I’m waiting on confirmation – I should know by mid-jan so keep an eye on this site for confirmed dates near the end of jan. happy new year!
Hiya
Do I just show up or do you need to book in advance?
Danuta
Hi Danuta
Just show up! No need to book in advance. If we get lots of new tappers we will start a booking schedule but the classes are manageable sizes at present so all are welcome. Hope to see you there!
Hi Donna
The next term begins in mid-July but my classes are open to drop-in any time you like. We are 3 weeks into choreography of a short number but we also do lots of exercises and drills so you won’t have too much to catch up on if you would like to commence now rather than wait until the new term. hope to see you tapping soon!
